Well, he actually retired, but I thought "Stock Shelved" made for a better headline. Unless maybe Mike McCarthy forced him to retire the way the Packers forced Favre out of town! Either way, Mike Stock won't be the special teams coach next year for the Green Bay Packers.
Not really surprising that he won't be returning, and if he didn't call it quits he probably would have been fired. As bad as the Packers defense played at times this year, the special teams played worse. Stock is a good guy, sure, but anyone who campaigns to sign Derrick Frost probably should start thinking about moving to Del Boca Vista.

I agree it was his time to go. Apparently he's been coaching for 44 years all together, so retirement is more appropriate.
I'm too much of a softy, when someone sucks, I prefer they leave on their own terms.
