The Brewers may have recently picked up the club option on Mike Cameron for the 2009 season, but that doesn't mean he'll be wearing a Brewers uniform come next year. According to the New York Post, the Yankees have asked the Crew about Cameron, and it's a deal the Brewers are considering.
In exchange, the Brewers would probably be looking at a guy like Melky Cabrera, as well as a pitcher. Personally, I'd rather have Cameron, unless the pitcher was of the Ian Kennedy / Phil Hughes mold. Neither of which, would likely be included in the deal.
Gut feeling is that Cameron stays with the Brewers, and this story was just leaked to convince Sabathia to come to New York.
