What am I feeling right now? Is it hope? Optimistism? Could it actually be faith in these Brewers? That remains to be seen, but for now the Brewers keep pace in the Wild Card race with a 6-2 win over the Cubs. And that keeps them 1/2 a game back out of the playoffs, as the Mets and the Phillies also won tonight. But at this point, I'll take it.The Brewers did it tonight with two innings of three runs a piece. Things started right away in the first, when Dale's new lineup was able convert three runs via a Prince Fielder double. In the seventh, two of the Brewers coldest hitters in J.J. Hardy and Corey Hart were able to help extend the Crew's lead.
There was one major blemish on tonight's victory however, as Ben Sheets had to leave the game after just two innings. We've seen this before, so we tend not to worry and just think he'll be fine for his next start. But, some are speculating he could be out for the season.
When Sheets left tonight, we were told it was right forearm tightness, but Sheets said otherwise after the victory. He says he's had an ailing elbow that has bothered him for awhile now, and even received a shot for it not too long ago.
With the Sheets injury, coupled with a nice little victory, I'm not sure what I'm feeling. But at least it's not despair.

I think Prince wants to win the bucky channel Brewer of the game contest. He is only 2 behind Braun. Way to motivate the big fella Winks!!
yea the tbc brewer of the game standings could get interesting here. prince looks like hes ready to make up for a season of crap and carry us to the playoffs, which would grant his fat ass immunity for a long time.
It was nice to get a W finally. Hopefully they gain some momentum.
Losing Sheets sucks, but it's better than if he were making bad starts down the stretch because of some less-conspicuous injury (like David Riske's).
Starting Dave Bush on three days rest vs. CHC also sucks but, unlike Ned, Sveum can admit that Parra finally "hit a wall" & make the proper adjustments. I like having McClung back in the rotation. The guy saved our butts around midseason as a spot starter & you could tell he wanted back in because he's been mowing down hitters in relief.
the brewers need to win tonight.
