This has been a pretty good series to watch, as a baseball fan. As a Brewer fan however, not so much. After Eric Gagne blew the game the night before, the Mets came after the bullpen again, this time in the form of Salomon Torres. Despite a Brewers comeback effort, the Mets took Tuesday night's affair with the Brewers 6-5.Manny Parra got roughed up a bit early, but managed to go six innings tonight, giving up five of the runs. Mota and Gagne pitched well enough in their three innings of work, and Torres actually pitched fine, as it was an error that cost him the run in the 10th.
Manny Parra also did some work at the plate as well, going 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Rickie Weeks also had a good night at the plate, going 4 for 6.
Down a run in the 10th inning, the Brewers found themselves down to their final out. Yost used his September callups to perfection tonight, bringing in Big Bad Brad Nelson to pinch hit for Kendall. He took a pitch that looked like it was going to be out of the park to tie the game, but instead settled for a double.
Gwynn pinch ran for him, and stayed at 2nd after a Kapler walk. Rickie Weeks had a chance to win the game, but couldn't get that 5th hit, and struck out to end the game.
The Brewers will try to salvage the series on Wednesday against the Mets. It's not a must-win by any means, but I'd sure feel a lot better about things if we could pick up a victory.

Weeks dropping the throw to first base was frustrating, but they really needed to bring in a run late in the game.
I, for one, say we trade Prince for whatever we can get and start the Brad Nelson era as soon as possible.
