One of my favorite headlines from this week was "New Jersey For Favre". Think about it, pretty clever right? Well, his new jersey, even though it's still the solid green we're used to, is a pretty hot seller for Jets and Favre fans alike. In the first 24 hours after the trade was final, more than 6,500 Favre jerseys were purchased from NFL.com. Not only is that a lot of jerseys to sell in one day, but that many jerseys have never been sold cumulatively in one day from the site, ever.
If I was a Jets fan, I would have been one of the 6,500 that bought the jersey. Just like I would have bought an Emmitt Smith jersey if I was a Cardinals fan. Or a Joe Montana jersey if I was a Chiefs fan. Or a Jerry Rice jersey if I was a fan of the Seahawks, Raiders, or Broncos.
I personally won't be buying one (that money is going towards a Rodgers jersey) but I'm already counting down the days until I see one being worn here in Wisconsin.
One final note, MC Sports in La Crosse has no Aaron Rodgers jerseys for sale, but they do have a boatload of Jordy Nelson jerseys available!
