Growing up in a "soccer family", I guess you could say, we made the trip down to Milwaukee for many Milwaukee Wave games. It was cheap entertainment, and was always a good time. I've always loved the fast pace of indoor soccer, not just as a fan but also as a player, and a Wave game was always a good time. Some of the highlights for me were attending the game the year they won championship, the pre-game camp I went to, and the game Brett Favre attended. But as the Wave approaches their 25th season in existence, they will do so without a league.
The Wave have been members of the AISL, the NPSL, and most recently the MISL, of which folded on Friday. The team will continue, however, along with their popular summer camps. Owners of the teams are currently working on arrangements for a new league, and a decision should be made within a few weeks.
