I think we have a closer controversy on our hands, Milwaukee. Although many people probably won't even give Gagne the benefit of the doubt at this point, and just say the job is straight up Torres'. But after 1 2/3 scoreless from Torres on Sunday, it appears he should be the guy in the 9th after earning his 7th save of the season.
His performance followed scoreless performances from Carlos Villanueva and Brian Shouse as well. All came in relief of Jeff Suppan, who went 5 1/3, and only gave up four hits. Suppan improves to 4-4, while Villanueva continues to pitch brilliantly out of the bullpen.
Even though they only put up three runs, the Crew were able to break out the bats knocking 11 hits on the afternoon. Kapler, Braun, Fielder, and Hart all had two each. Kapler, Braun, and Hall had the RBI's.
Not your most extensive recap, but we're just trying to get caught up tonight. The saying goes, news that happened an hour ago is old, news that happened yesterday is ancient. I'm assuming most of you skimmed over this one, and I don't blame you. More posting to come.
Box Score.
