Just wanted to throw a few quick thoughts around on tonight's NCAA Championship. First off, what a game that was. It was one of the better championship games I can ever remember watching. It was a great way to unwind after a long day of work (sorry about the lack of posts Monday), and it didn't help that I earned a little payday from it, as well. In case you're new, Kansas was my pick to win the championship. In the Jayhawk's first championship since 1998, they were able to take down Memphis 75-68 in overtime.
Kansas played well for most of the game, until Memphis took over at the end of the second half. Even though Memphis had done a complete 180 in this tournament and became a great free throw shooting team, their mistakes at the stripe allowed Mario "Supernintendo" Chalmers (more of a Simpsons reference) to hit an already legendary three with 2 seconds left in regulation. From there, they were able to bring a championship back to Lawrence, and bring 100 dollars back into my wallet.
