The tearful goodbye to Daniel "Bubba" Franks became official Sunday as he signed with the New York Jets for a one year, $1.65 million contract. Franks will likely be the backup for Chris Baker. Franks was a first round draft pick for the Packers in 2000, and made Pro Bowl appearances in 2001, 2002, and 2003. He became expendable to the Packers after Donald Lee's breakout season last year.
The early years of Bubba's career as a Packer earned him the nickname "Bubba Zone", for how well be performed inside the 20 yard line. In fact, he became so good in the Red Zone, that Favre barely threw to him anywhere else. If you ever drafted Franks in fantasy, the stat line of 1 catch, 6 yards, 1 TD is very familiar to you.
Good luck in New York, Danny!

I would have gone with the Garden State.... Since technically the Meadowlands is in Jersey. Why not change the names of one of those teams anyway, they did with the Nets. Jets sound like a good New Jersey team.
