Brewers 2, Mariners 0
Two teams meant two wins for the Crew on Sunday. Weeks, Cameron, Hardy, Braun, Dillon, Kapler, Nelson, Nix, and Rivera made up the lineup for this team. J.J. doubled in the only two runs of the game, as the Brewers went on to win 2-0. Ned Yost IV even saw a plate appearance in this one, that's how thin these spilt squad teams are. Speaking of thin, I'm doing a 16 team baseball draft right now, 24 guys to a roster. I just drafted Matt Garza, which is fine, but I still have ten picks left to make! (More on this in the fantasy review in a couple of weeks).
Great stuff from the mound from this squad today. The Brewers only gave up two hits, and none of them came during Claudio Vargas's five innings of work. I know it's just Spring Training, but I would have left him in to go for the milestone. Why not? Good innings from Gagne and Turnbow as well.
Box Score.
TBC's Player of the Game: Claudio Vargas
Brewers 5, A's 2
Welcome to the bigs Cole Gillespie! He hit a three-run, eighth-inning homer, for his first TBC Player of the Game honors. The starting line up in this one was Counsell, Gywnn, Hall, Fielder, Hart, Gross, LaPorta, Nunez, and Rottino. Tony Gwynn had a nice game as well, going 2 for 4. Non-roster invitee Chris Narveson threw four scoreless innings to give the Brewers the 5-2 victory.
Box Score.
TBC's Player of the Game: Cole Gillespie!
