The Brewers won again today, that's good news. But I'm more upset about the Brewers right now than I am happy. The first thing is minor, and if you follow this blog than it's nothing new. It's just that Jeff Suppan followed the Brewers Spring Training pattern for their starting pitcher going three innings and giving up two runs. It's not a big deal, I'd just like to see our pitchers have more consistent starts. They say we have an abundance of pitching, but just how good are Suppan, Bush, and Capuano? I guess we won't find that out in Spring Training.
The bigger problem for me is this article I read on Brewers.com today. Apparently, Ned is going to stick to his plan of batting Jason Kendall ninth during the regular season. I've previously said I'm going to support Yost this whole season, which I am, but I just disagree with him on this move. I think batting your pitcher anywhere else than 9th is a case of a manager just out-thinking himself. We'll see though.
As for today's game, some good offensive production again. Mike Cameron hit his second homer, Ryan Braun extended his hitting streak to five games, and Joe Dillon homered. The Brewers are in spilt squad action tomorrow against the A's and the Mariners.
Box Score.
