Jack Bauer is probably the other only person (real or not) that can rival the man-crush I have on Brett Favre. So it's only fitting on a day that we say goodbye to one man, we have news we may be saying hello to the other.
According to zap2it.com, we may not have to wait until January 2009 for new 24. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 24 producers are working on a two-hour prequel to lead up to the show's 7th season premiere. The prequel would bridge the gap between the 6th season finale and the 7th season premiere. It would most likely air in the fall of 2008, as a "special presentation".
When we last saw Jack, he was standing on the edge of a cliff somewhere in Los Angeles. From what we've seen of the season seven previews, he's the subject of a Senate hearing in Washington D.C.. I'm not sure how it will be done, whether it will be in real time or not, but the prequel aims to fill in those gaps.
I'd also like to add that I typed this up while rewatching Favre's press conference. I think it just hit me he's actually retiring.
